Oriental Screen Card

This card is supposed to look like those oriental screens with the geisha girl behind the screen.

For the screen I have used some vellum and drew the lines on with black whisper pen and coloured around the edge.

I used a geisha stamp and stamped the image on to some scrap paper and then stamped onto the card in black ink and I did the same for the symbols to make it look like they are behind the screen.

I used oriental symbols stamps (which means happy birthday) with versamark ink and black embossing powder and used 3d foam pads to mount it on the top.

For the middle of the card I have drawn the same design screen and used the same stamps again and stamped with versamark ink and black embossing powder onto white card and edge the symbols with red brilliance ink.

For the geisha girl I have used a red whisper pen to watercolour her kimono.

I used 3d foam again to both images and tried to stick where they are on the front of the card.

This is just to show what they look when the card is stood up.

Birthday Card for my cousin

For this card I have used a cotton wool ball and blue ink to tint the card and the tag. I have used a Hot of the press template for the Lattice fold and colour tinted the reverse of the card black with a cotton wool ball so that the lattice is two different colours. I used a gold mirror cars behind the lattice and used versamark ink with gold embossing powder for the balloons and the message both are from See D's stamps. For the tag I used a gold eyelet and pulled blue & black ribbon and mounted the tag on 3d foam pads.

For a 2 year Old Girl

This card is for my friend's little girl who will be 2 on Thursday. She really likes Peppa Pig at the moment which of course I haven't got a glue who that was, but I found out to make this card for Niamh.

Retirement Card

This retirement card was for my Mums colleague (Axminster Carpets) who left a couple of week ago now.

I used a swirl stamp by Rhonna Farrier and blue Brilliance ink and used Plain Jane Alphabet See D's stamps on frosted shrink plastic. I cut round the shrink plastic with deckle edged scissors and stuck them down with silicone glue.

Altered Canvas

This is the first time I have painted onto canvas let alone stamped and embossed them.

The inspiration behind these painting are from our recently decorated stairs and landing with a oriental blue border and I wanted some paintings to go up the stairs.

The Peace symbol originally came from a stencil I have had a few years but enlarged it to the size I wanted for the canvas. I painting the symbol in, in black acrylic paint and use my oriental unmounted stamps with versamark ink and silver embossing powder.

This symbol of good luck was also a stencil and enlarged it to the correct size and use the same technique as above.

This symbol of joy was also a stencil which I have enlarged and use the same technique as before.

This Dragon was also a stencil from a few years ago and I just drew round the shapes and painted it in with dark silver acrylic paint (but sometimes it looks gold if the light catches it right.) and found a symbol from the internet that means dragon and painted that the same colour as the dragon. I used my oriental unmounted stamps again with versamark ink and black embossing powder this time. I tried to go for a more masculine piece this time with no floral images.
I really likes dragon but im not sure if this one is my favourite one, Do you have a favourite?

Christmas Cards 2007

I know this is a little late to show you all what Christmas cards I sent this for 2007. I really didnt have a clue what to do for everybody, so I made a card using a swirl stamp, a snowman stamp, happy christmas stamp and a snowlafke stamp and some vellum, brads and embossing powder in blue and silver.

I really liked it so I decided i could make a similar card using different colours, I ended up with the other three cards as you can see purple and silver.
